Dear Badminton Community,

It has been two weeks since we first opened our business after the lockdown was lifted. We have taken safety precautions to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it was necessary to implement these steps to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.

We started our court rental system two weeks ago while keeping membership on hold. This system was quite different from the “old” system in the past (before Covid19). In these two weeks, many of our members suggested that we should reactivate the membership and combine it with a lower rental court fee. We think that this is a good idea. Hence, we would implement this idea (monthly membership with lower rental fee) moving forward, starting on June 01, 2020.

Here is an update to our membership plan:

  1. Most of our customers chose to hold their memberships when the lockdown started. The holding period for most of them will end on 05/31/2020. Thus, we decide to let the holding period to expire on 05/31/2020, and we will turn on the automatic payment for the monthly membership on 06/01/2020. For those who still want to keep their memberships on hold, please send us an email to hold the membership by June 8th. We will fully refund your June monthly membership and put your memberships on hold again until 07/31/2020 (please note, there will be a $10 admin fee). For those who want to cancel the membership, please email us the cancellation request by June 8th. We will fully refund the monthly June membership fee too. If you have emailed us your request to extend the holding period or cancel a membership before the release of this note, you do not have to re-send your request.
  2. In this new monthly + rental system combination, a player with an active membership will be given a big discount when he or she rents a court. The discounted hourly rate will be $6 for non-peak time and $8 for the peak time. The player who reserves the court could bring up to five people in his or her group without extra charge if the people in the group have active memberships. The player with no membership will pay a drop-in fee of $5.00 per hour (non-peak time) or $8.50 per hour (peak time). A player with a non-active membership (membership on hold) will pay the same fees as a player without membership. We would like to share also that a player with an active membership will receive a 10% Pro shop discount on shoes and rackets.
  3. A player without an active membership (membership on hold) will be given the same discounted rates too (the discounted hourly rate of $6 for non-peak time and $8 for the peak time). However, he or she will have to pay a drop-in fee of $5 per hour (non-peak time) or $8.50 per hour (peak time). The player who books the court could bring up to five people in his or her group without extra charge if the people in the groups have a membership. The player with no membership will pay a drop-in fee of $5 per hour (non-peak time) or $8.50 per hour (peak time). A player with a non-active membership (membership on hold) will pay the same fees as a player without membership.
  4. Non-members could book the court for $30 per court per hour (non-peak time) or $48 per hour per court (peak time). The player who books the court could bring up to five people in his or her group without paying any drop-in fee.
  5. For those players who have booked the courts for June 01 and beyond, we will give you an appropriate account credit. For players who have bought prepaid rental court passes for use in June, we will also give you an appropriate account credit. Please email us so that we could take care of you promptly.

In this unprecedented time, we believe our center has to continue adapting to the new norm. We will monitor the situation closely and make necessary changes to allow us to continue providing the best quality and cost-effective service to our community. We are hopeful we get your understanding and support. We remain optimistic that things will be better soon.
