Level 1 – Learn to rally

Goal

  • To play rally front court and mid court
  • To serve shuttlecock to start a rally
  • To enjoy badminton games
  • Student to sustain rally-100 strokes with the coach covering mid and front court (1/2 court rally)

Skills to learn

  • Focus on hand-eye coordination and hitting simple rally
  • General Principle of Badminton
  • Grips: Basic Forehand and Backhand Grips
  • Footwork: Basic Foot works
  • Serves: Low backhand Serve and High Forehand Serve
  • Hitting Skills: Net Lift and Overhead Clear

Physical activities

  • Low to Medium Intensity
  • Body Coordination, Stability, and Balance
  • Running, basic upper/ lower body strength

Level 2 – Smash is fun

Goal

  • Play rally mid court and back court
  • To hit stronger overhead strokes
  • To enjoy faster badminton games
  • Student to sustain rally-50 strokes with the coach covering all back and front court (1/2 court rally)

Skills to learn

  • Focus on developing power and accuracy
  • Footwork: Fluency in Foot works
  • Accuracy in Serve (Low and High)
  • Hitting Skills: Clear, Smash and Overhead Drop, Net, Net Lift, Net Kill

Physical Activity

  • Medium Intensity
  • Core Body Strength especially the upper body
  • Running and Jumping
